Meet Up, Socialize, and Learn

It's time for our Annual Fundraiser!
Raffling off a quilt each year may seem odd. However, this event generates funds essential to keep the Raytown Historical Society up and running. This is how we keep the lights on and other basic bills paid, allowing us to open up the Museum to the community. This year’s KING-SIZE quilted spread, done in shades of burgundy and blue, is one of our most beautiful offerings. This large piece combines examples of quilt blocks, appliques, embroidery, and hand-quilting to create a remarkable display of craftsmanship. Stop by the Museum on Thursdays or Fridays from 10 AM to 2 PM to see this stunning quilt in person and purchase raffle tickets for $2 each. The raffle drawing will be held at our December 4, 2023, Holiday Open House. You do not need to be present to win. Thank you for your support. We truly couldn't survive and thrive without you.
Benjamin Ranch
The Benjamin family purchased land in the 87th & Hillcrest Road area in 1910. Dairy cattle were their primary business, but after several decades, they transitioned to renting riding horses. Benjamin Ranch was born. It became a huge draw and remained so for the next forty years. Please click through the photos to get a glimpse of activities at the Benjamin Ranch.
