It's Time for our Annual Fundraiser
Our most anticipated fundraising event is back! This annual raffle has been our cornerstone for over a decade, raising thousands of dollars to keep our Museum doors open and Raytown's history alive. This year, we're raffling the Hired Man's Quilt, a beautifully hand-sewn utilitarian-style quilt inspired by a photograph in the book Old Swedish Quilts by Asa Wettre. It was hand-made and generously donated by Karen Snyder, a retired quilt shop owner, pattern designer, and quilting historian. In a wonderful twist of local history, Karen's own family story begins right here: an ancestor left Ray County, Missouri, in 1852 to cross the Oregon Trail. Every stitch carries a story, and this one carries a piece of ours! Stop by the Museum on Thursdays or Fridays from 10 AM to 2 PM to see this beautiful quilt in person. You can purchase raffle tickets for $2 each at the Museum or online. The raffle drawing will be held on December 7, 2026. You do not need to be present to win. Your support makes history happen!
