These outstanding graduates represent Raytown and Raytown South's finest. They have achieved distinction in their lives and careers and have been honored in the Alumni Hall of Fame.
Come by the Museum and read about their lives since high school. We have archives going back to the original Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2005. You can also visit the Raytown Quality Schools website for the same information online.
Ted Chittwood was a coach and teacher at Raytown High School for 34 years, retiring in 1981. He had a winning record both on and off the field. Chittwood was proud to be an innovator leading Raytown to be the first in the Kansas City area to play in a high school bowl game, organize a booster club, print a large format football program, and have a stadium that would seat 5,000 spectators. Scrapbooks and other items reminding us of Coach Chittwood's Raytown High School football legacy are displayed at the Museum.
This fan window was salvaged from the old City Hall building in 1975. It is special because it has endured over many years. Although the window remained in place, the building surrounding it was used for several different schools even before becoming City Hall.

This is the wooden propeller that was part of the 3-cylinder, 45 horsepower plane named "Liberty" owned by 21-year old Sheldon Cadwell of Raytown. After only 51 hours of flying experience, Sheldon put his small plane through aerial maneuvers that caused the left wing to buckle under the strain and fall off. From an altitude of 1,000 feet, the plane nosed over to crash in a wheat field not far from his aunt's home in Blue Springs, Missouri.
