RAMIZZOUS & GOODBYES
I remember that last day of school. Everyone went to the gymnasium with a new yearbook (The Ramizzou). We mingled with many friends and signed their book while they signed ours. For the really close friends we wrote something witty like, "Don't forget the good time we had at Longview." Later on Mother wanted to know what that good time was all about.
When the time came to go home, the realization that the prom was history, the graduation ceremony was history, and my high school days were over, I choked back the tears and walked out the door. Facing the outside world without the warm blanket of friends, teachers and community was frankly pretty scary.
But through the years those memories and experiences prepared me for that scary world better than I realized. They kept me grounded and the memories are treasures never to be taken away from me. Thanks Raytown.
